The Licensed Massage Program presents a unique blend of Swedish and Thai theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on training.
The programs for Medical Assistant, and Medical Billing, Coding and Insurance also provide a combination of scientific/theoretical instruction and hands-on practical training. Students learn the most common procedures and techniques used in clinics and medical centers, and are prepared for entry-level positions in all facilities requiring medical and administrative assistants and billing specialists (doctor’s offices, clinics, community health centers, etc.).
The field of health care is predicted to be one of the fastest-growing sectors of industry over the next several years. Specifically, the demand for both Licensed Massage Therapists and Certified Medical Assistants is expected to increase. The Illinois Career Information Service (CIS) predicts that the demand for Massage Therapists will continue to rise, especially as the age of the American population increases, the benefits of massage become more widely known, and more and more physicians and other health professionals refer their patients to Massage Therapists for treatment. The outlook is even better for Medical Assistants, a profession which the ICES estimates will grow at a rate FOUR TO SIX TIMES that of the overall rate of job growth both locally and nationwide. |
